Praktische ERP-Lehre mit SAP im Kontext der öffentlichen Verwaltung in Deutschland

Abstract

The need to teach knowledge about ERP systems in general and SAP knowledge in particular does not stop at public administration. The Administrative Computer Science programme at the Federal University of Applied Administrative Sciences in Münster therefore includes a module on ERP systems. The curriculum of the University Competence Center (UCC) of SAP SE is used to convey selected business functionalities in the ERP context. In addition to SAP S/4HANA, an SAP ERP HCM system of the administration as well as the Open Source ERP system Odoo are used. The objective of the module is based on the objective of the course: teaching process knowledge at the interface between the specialist department of administration and IT. It thus differs from the objective of conventional ERP modules in university teaching and the SAP UCC curriculum does not fit. This experience report introduces the module and describes its implementation. The findings and experience gained at the Federal University of Applied Administrative Sciences maybe help other universities to solve their problems in teaching ERP-systems, especially other universities of Applied Administrative Sciences.
