(no german kurzfassung) This paper reports on recent progress in the development of an affordance assessment protocol. Affordance denotes here the potential of buildings to offer occupants a range of possibilities to adjust indoor-environmental conditions. In this context, buildings typically offer various devices or elements (e.g., windows, blinds, luminaires, and radiators) to influence indoorenvironmental conditions. The proposed affordance assessment protocol documents the availability of such control devices as well as their effectiveness (spatial distribution, objective and subjective effectiveness, interface quality, and ecological quality). The evaluation method is tested for two different office areas. The observations suggest that protocol users are fairly consistent in judging the principle availability of the control devices. However, results vary more when the quality of devices are evaluated.
