Photovoltaik und Begrünung am Nachkriegsbau: eine neue Fassade für den Georg-Emmerling-Hof

Abstract

Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit war es, unter dem Einsatz von Photovoltaik- Modulen und Begrünung die Fassade des im zweiten Wiener Bezirk gelegenen Georg-Emmerling-Hofs neu zu gestalten und dabei den Fokus im Kontext anhaltender Klimaveränderungen auf nachhaltige Energieerzeugung zu legen. Es galt, das Bestandsgebäude hinsichtlich seines Erscheinungsbildes eingebettet in der Umgebung, seiner Energieeffizienz, der baulichen Substanz und der örtlichen Voraussetzungen wie Verschattung, sommerliche Überwärmung und Lärmimmission zu analysieren. Darauf aufbauend wurde eine Fassadenlösung entwickelt, die die Technik der Photovoltaik optimal an diese Gegebenheiten anpasst und in einer Symbiose mit Fassadenbegrünung positive Auswirkungen auf das Klima innerhalb des Gebäudes sowie auf das Stadtklima hat. Ein wesentlicher Fokus wurde in der Arbeit auch auf die Gestaltung der Fassade gelegt: Einerseits, um auf die umliegenden Gebäude zu reagieren und andererseits, um aufzuzeigen, dass mit neuesten Technologien der Photovoltaik-Module gestalterisch individuelle Lösungen möglich sind.

The objective of the present paper was to redesign the façade of the Georg- Emmerling-Hof in the second district in Vienna by taking in consideration the use of photovoltaic modules and planting vegetation. In the process the focus was set on sustainable energy production in the context of the continuing climate change. It was necessary to analyze the existing building in terms of its appearance embedded in the surrounding area, its energy efficiency, the main structural parts and the local conditions - such as shading, summer overheating and noise immission. Based on this, a façade solution was developed that optimally adapts photovoltaic technology to these conditions and furthermore, in a symbiosis with façade greening, has positive effects on the climate within the building as well as on the urban climate. A major focus of this paper was set on the arrangement of the façade: on the one hand to react to the surrounding buildings and on the other hand to show that creative solutions on an individual level are possible with the latest technologies of photovoltaic modules.
