Abstract:
Parabolic through power plants are a major issue in industrial production of solar energy. There parabolic reflector-channels are used to focus sunlight on pipes traversed by thermionic oil. The scope of this thesis is to optimize the reflectors of the flexible parabolic through power plant HELIOtube of the company HELIOVIS AG. Due to previous investigations a silver layer deposited by magnetron sputtering on plastic substrate and further a reactively sputtered, transparent protective coating with aluminium oxide are used. An optimal thickness of the layers should be calculated via multiple ray interference and validated by measurements with an integrating sphere. Further the resistance of the layer system against typical loads, such as mechanical abrasion during construction and long term effects of UV-radiation and humidity, simulated with accelerated weathering, should be investigated. The degradation of the reflexion will be quantified and therefore an optimal layer composition in respect of absolute reflexion value as well as endurance should be established.
