Modul der Innovation : Strategie der Revitalisierung der ehemaligen Schuhfabrik Baťa in Partizánske (SK)

Abstract

Genau vor 80 Jahren entstehen erste Fabriken und Häuser auf der grünen Wiese, und die Stadt Partizánske beginnt, als Satellit der weltberühmten Firma Baťa, Geschichte zu schreiben. Diese ideale Industriestadt gilt als wesentlicher Faktor bei der Modernisierung des damals noch agrargeprägten slowakischen Teils der Tschechoslowakei. Die Produktionshallen sowie die öffentlichen Einrichtungen wurden in Skelettbauweise mit einheitlichem Stützenraster erbaut. Eine sich gleichende Außenerscheinung mit sichtbarem Konstruktionsraster in der Fassade, Ziegelausfachungen und großflächigen Fenstern prägen weltweit die Ästhetik von Baťas Bauten und verleihen dem gesamten Komplex Homogenität. Das Projekt nimmt die Herausforderung an, eine neue Zukunftsvision für Partizánske vorzuschlagen und versucht sogar, mögliche zukünftige Tendenzen der Gesellschaftsentwicklung zu skizzieren, um der zukunftsweisenden Botschaft von Baťa gerecht zu werden. Das Leitmotiv des Entwurfs ist der Prozess der Umwandlung eines der Grundpfeiler der Industrieproduktion für die Bedürfnisse einer postindustriellen Gesellschaft, wobei das Erbe Baťas als ideologische und architektonische Basis gilt. Der Schlüssel dazu ist die Flexibilität und die Klarheit des architektonischen Konzepts, das Baťas Planungsabteilung durchsetzte und zahlreiche Nutzungsmöglichkeiten erlaubt. Ursprüngliche architektonische Gestaltungsprinzipien sowie Ideen der sozialen Innovation werden gewürdigt, aufgegriffen und neu interpretiert, um eine kohärente Weiterentwicklungsidee sowohl des Areals als auch der ganzen Stadt im heutigen Kontext vorzuschlagen. In Aufgaben wie dieser liegt die Zukunft für zahlreiche Industriestädte, die in den neuen Verhältnissen ihren Platz suchen, um eine lebenswerte Stadt mit Identität zu werden.

Exactly 80 years ago, first factories and houses are arising on green fields in order to begin to write the story of Partizánske - a new satellite of the world-famous company Baťa. This ideal industrial city is considered to be an essential factor in the modernization of the Slovak part of Czechoslovakia, which at the time has still been almost exclusively used for agricultural purposes. The structural system for factories as well as public facilities is a framework with a uniform construction grid. The similar appearance of the facades with visible columns, brick infills and large windows define the aesthetics of Baťas buildings worldwide and give the homogeneity to the cities. The project meets the challenge of proposing a new vision for Partizánske, even attempts to predict the possible future tendencies of social development in order to do the justice to the visionary legacy of Baťa. The main focus of the project is to transform the core stones of industrial production fitting to the needs of a post-industrial society. Moreover, to achieve this particular goal, the heritage of Baťa is seen as an ideological and architectural foundation. The key to the conversion is the flexibility and clarity of the architectural concept, enforcing Baťas design department, which allows for numerous functions. Design principles as well as ideas of social innovation that Baťa has followed in his work, will be applied and revived in todays context to propose a coherent idea for revitalization of the factory as well as development of the whole city. In tasks such as these is the future of many industrial cities, which seek their place in the new age with the goal to become a livable city with an identity.
