Abstract:
The calculation of electromagnetic fields of moving conductors often requires computationally expensive finite element analysis. This investigation proposes a novel approach based on magnetic equivalent circuits for 3-D moving linear ferromagnetic solids. The predicted magnetic flux and reluctance force of the simplified models show good agreement with the FE analysis across a wide range of velocities and air gaps, with minimal computational effort.
