Abstract:
The generalized chi square distribution is the distribution of a sum of squares of independent normal random variables that may have nonvanishing expectations and different variances. The thesis presents an overview of the theory of this distribution and a program written in C++ for the evaluation of density and distribution function. As an application, the asymptotic distribution of the minimal sum of squares in the factor analytic model with least squares estimation is determined.
