Überschreiten aufgebrachte Lasten die elastische Grenzlast bzw.<br />Dehnungen die elastische Grenzdehnung, müssen wegen physikalischer Nichtlinearitäten nichtlineare Materialglei-chungen verwendet werden, um plastische Eigenschaften widerzuspiegeln. Die zur Beschrei-bung nichtlinearen Materialverhaltens erforderliche Theorie wird im Rahmen dieser Arbeit als Erweiterung der Elastizitätstheorie entwickelt. Dazu werden die 14 gekoppelten Differential-gleichungen für Biegetorsion (gemischte Torsion) am geraden Stab unter Berücksichtigung des Fließverhaltens hergeleitet. Diese Herleitung des Biegetorsionsproblems für Elastizität und Plastizität stellt eine genaue Beschreibung der als Modell idealisierten Wirklichkeit dar.<br />Die Arbeit befasst sich mit der statischen Untersuchung von Einzelstäben, die sich bei Bela-stung unterhalb einer Grenzlast linear-elastisch, oberhalb derselben ideal-plastisch verhalten. Es wird eine Theorie entwickelt, mit der die Tragfähigkeitsreserven eines Systems qualitativ und quantitativ zu bestimmen sind und aus der folglich die Möglichkeit resultiert, Tragfähig-keitsreserven für eine einerseits sichere und andererseits wirtschaftliche Bemessung zu nut-zen. Da diese Theorie im Gegensatz zur Fließgelenktheorie jede plastizierte oder geflossene Zone eines Systems genau beschreibt, heißt sie Fließzonentheorie.<br />Die zur Erweiterung der Elastizitätstheorie auf die Fließzonentheorie erforderlichen Terme werden anschaulich hergeleitet. Mit Hilfe eines Programms werden ausgesuchte Systeme be-rechnet und die in Fließzonen auftretenden Phänomene beschrieben und analysiert. Aus der Erklärung dieser Phänomene werden allgemeingültige Aussagen über plastisches Tragverhal-ten abgeleitet. Zuletzt leistet diese Arbeit einen Beitrag zur aktuellen Diskussion hinsichtlich Traglastbestimmung und ist in diesem Zusammenhang als Lösungskonzept einzuordnen.<br />
