Abstract: 
To further speed up the frequency-domain fatigue life estimation procedure for vehicle components with large numbers of spot-welds, several measures are proposed. A two-scale FE-approach based on a pre-processed library for various spot-weld- / sheet-geometries, applying the cutting plane method, and a priori stress estimations reduce the necessary CPU-time considerably and allow for an efficient consideration of different load histories.
